• Wiener Schnitzel (Viennese Veal Cutlets):
    Austrian Wiener Schnitzel

    Breaded veal cutlets, fried to golden perfection. They are the ne plus ultra of the Viennese cuisine. The cutlets are garnished with bright lemon wedges and a dash of cranberry sauce. They are delicious with buttered parsley potatoes and/or rice and they are served the traditional way with leaf or cucumber salad.
  • Rindsgulasch (Beef Gulyas):
    Austrian Beef Gulyas

    The awesome taste of onions gives an extravagant commendation to this so traditional dish. It is perfect with boiled potatoes or Nockerln (Spätzle) – the picture shows them with the famous Viennese “black Nockerln”. Also very good are noodles or Semmelknödel (white bread dumplings) or Serviettenknödel (napkin dumplings) with the Gulyas.
  • Steirisches Wurzelfleisch (Styrian Pork with Roots):
    Austrian Wurzelfleisch

    The famous Styrian Pork is named after “Styria”, which is an Austrian province in the Southern part of the country. Our ‘Governator’ Arnold Schwarzenegger was born and raised there. It is cooked in soup with chopped root vegetables and served with grated horseradish and parsley potatoes.
  • Gefüllte frische Gurken (Stuffed Cucumbers):
    Austrian Stuffed Cucumbers

    Fresh cucumbers are stuffed with ground meat and simmered in freshly made onion/parsley sauce. They are accompanied with boiled potatoes.
    This dish IS low fat & low calorie!
  • Gedämpfte Hühnerbrüstchen mit Champignons (Breast of Chicken with Mushrooms):
    Austrian Breast of Chicken with Mushrooms

    Breasts of chicken are browned and then simmered in a delicious mushroom sauce. Side dishes are either: rice, rice with green peas or stewed fruit.
    Excellent for the chicken lover.
  • Windringerl (Meringues):
    Austrian Windringerl

    These are famous all over the world, especially light and have NO fat and NO flour.
    There is even an Austrian author (Adelheid Dahimène) who calls her soul a snow-white Meringue, which is a beautiful analogy to this wonderful pastry: pristine, fragile, volatile.
